Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer - TransformersReports To: Engineering Manager Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering team specializing in power and distribution transformers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the electrical design, development, and optimization of transformer products in accordance with customer specifications, industry standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI), and internal processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Design electrical schematics and winding configurations for power and distribution transformers (oil-immersed or dry-type). Perform electrical calculations including short-circuit strength, temperature rise, impedance, loss evaluation, no-load/load losses, and dielectric design. Select and specify core materials, conductor sizes, insulation systems, and tap changers (OLTC/RLTC). Prepare complete electrical design documentation including GA drawings, wiring diagrams, and bill of materials (BOM). Collaborate with mechanical design, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure product feasibility and performance. Conduct technical reviews of customer specifications and participate in proposal engineering (pre-bid support). Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., IEC 60076, ANSI C57, IS standards). Participate in testing and validation of transformer prototypes and resolve design-related issues. Support continuous improvement and cost optimization efforts in transformer designs. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technological developments in transformer design. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. 3-7 years of experience in electrical design of transformers (LV, MV, or HV). Solid understanding of transformer theory, design principles, and manufacturing processes. Proficiency with design tools such as EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, MATLAB, ANSYS, or proprietary transformer design software (e.g., MagNet, Flux). Knowledge of industry standards (IEC, IEEE/ANSI, IS).
