Job Description

We require A 110kV substation design and estimation engineer is responsible for the technical design of substations and for creating accurate cost estimates for projects. Their roles include designing substation layouts, creating technical specifications and drawings, performing engineering calculations, coordinating with stakeholders, and preparing detailed cost estimates and Bills of Quantities.

Roles and responsibilities

Design

Substation layout and schematics:

Develop and review detailed electrical plans, schematics, and equipment layouts for new and existing substations.

Technical specifications:

Prepare and review technical specifications for equipment, materials, and installation.

Engineering calculations:

Perform critical calculations for fault levels, grounding, lightning protection, insulation coordination, and busbar sizing.

Design software:

Use software such as ETAP, CDEGS, or PSCAD for network studies, magnetic field calculations, and other analysis.

Drawings:

Create and review various drawings, including single-line diagrams, general arrangements, and sections.

System design:

Design AC and DC auxiliary systems, control panels, and other components.
Estimation

Cost estimates:

Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.

Bill of Quantities (BOQ):

Review customer drawings and create detailed BOQs based on the project's scope.

Quotations:

Prepare and submit quotations for work and assist with bids for new contracts.

Cost control:

Monitor project stages to ensure costs remain in line with forecasts.

Supplier analysis:

Analyze different suppliers to identify cost-effective solutions.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
