The E-learning Developer is responsible for building, testing, and publishing interactive digital learning modules using Articulate Storyline and Articulate Rise.
The role focuses on converting approved instructional storyboards and design assets into fully functional e-learning courses that meet Onboard Maritime's technical, visual, and quality standards.
This is a core production role within the Bhubaneswar office and supports the UK creative and learning teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop e-learning modules in Articulate Storyline and Rise based on approved storyboards.
Implement interactions, triggers, variables, animations, and assessments accurately.
Integrate graphics, audio, video, and other multimedia assets supplied by the design team.
Publish and test courses in SCORM/xAPI formats for LMS compatibility.
Perform functional testing, bug fixing, and quality assurance prior to delivery.
Ensure consistency in navigation, layout, and learner experience across courses.
Follow agreed production workflows, templates, file-naming conventions, and version control.
Work closely with Instructional Designers, Graphic Designers, and the Project Manager.
Contribute to continuous improvement of development templates and technical standards.
Required Skills and Experience
3-5 years' experience developing e-learning using Articulate Storyline.
Practical experience using Articulate Rise for responsive learning modules.
Good understanding of SCORM and LMS publishing requirements.
Experience working from detailed instructional storyboards.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
Familiarity with multimedia optimisation (images, audio, video).
Desirable Skills
Basic HTML5 or CSS knowledge for troubleshooting.
Experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud assets.
Experience in corporate, technical, or regulated-industry training environments.
Awareness of accessibility and usability best practice.
What This Role Does Not Cover
The role does not involve writing learning content or defining learning objectives.
Instructional design decisions are led by the Instructional Design team.
Creative direction and branding are guided by the UK team and internal standards.
