The EHS Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) systems at solar project sites to ensure compliance with statutory regulations, company policies, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor EHS plans for
solar power projects
(ground-mounted / rooftop).
Ensure compliance with
, and safety planning for solar installation activities.
Oversee safety measures for:
Module installation
Structure erection
Inverter & transformer installation
Cable laying & termination
Work at height and electrical works
Conduct site safety audits, inspections, and toolbox talks.
Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents; prepare reports and implement corrective actions.
Liaise with
clients, consultants, auditors, and government authorities
for EHS compliance.
Ensure availability and proper use of
PPE, safety equipment, and emergency response systems
.
Conduct EHS training and safety awareness programs for employees and contractors.
Maintain EHS documentation, permits, registers, and compliance records.
Lead emergency preparedness and mock drills at site.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree/Diploma in Engineering or Science.
Diploma / PG in Industrial Safety (mandatory).
8-12 years of EHS experience
, with
minimum 4-5 years in Solar / Renewable Energy projects
.
Strong knowledge of electrical safety and high-risk construction activities.
Skills & Competencies
Thorough knowledge of EHS laws & ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple contractors and large site teams.
Proficient in EHS reporting and compliance documentation.
