Job Summary



The Health & Safety Officer for Offsite Construction is responsible for implementing and monitoring safety standards in a prefabrication/manufacturing environment. The role includes identifying hazards, promoting a culture of safety, ensuring legal compliance (under Indian labour and safety law), and managing EHS protocols related to lifting, machinery, fire safety, and material handling.

Key Responsibilities



Statutory Compliance: Advise management to fulfill their obligations under the Factories Act and evolving labour codes

Risk Assessment & Audits: Conduct daily safety inspections, job safety analyses (JSA), HIRA, HAZOP, and prepare audit schedules

Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, near?misses, or industrial diseases; determine root causes and recommend corrective actions

Safety Training & Awareness: Lead induction sessions, toolbox talks, safety seminars, and awareness campaigns for employees and contractors

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain records of safety audits, incidents, PPE usage, first-aid, training logs, health registers, and annual safety reports

Safety Programs: Develop and implement SOPs, emergency response plans, permit systems (e.g., LOTO, hot work), safety committee support

PPE & Equipment Oversight: Ensure availability, inspection, and proper use of PPE, firefighting gear, ambulances, etc.

Regulatory Liaison: Interface with pollution control boards, DGFASLI, state factory inspectorates, and the National Safety Council (India)

Required Qualifications & Skills



Education Diploma/Bachelor's in Industrial Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, or relevant field

Certifications PDIS/ADIS from MSBTE, NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent

Experience 3-7 years in manufacturing or chemical industry; trainee to senior level

Legal Knowledge Familiarity with Factories Act, State Rules, and the new Labour Code framework

Technical Skills Risk assessment tools (HIRA, JSA), audit management, IMS or ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 or equivalent systems

Behavioral Skills Excellent communication, team player, proactive, and able to drive safety culture in diverse teams

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?35,000.00 per month

Indapur, Maharashtra: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
