Job Title: EdTech Education Counselor
Overview
An EdTech Education Counselor guides students, parents, and professionals in selecting suitable online courses, certification programs, and learning pathways offered by an educational technology (EdTech) organization. The role combines academic advising, product knowledge, sales skills, and learner support to ensure individuals choose the right programs to achieve their career or academic goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Student Counseling & Guidance
Understand the learner's background, interests, skills, and career goals.
Recommend appropriate online programs, courses, bootcamps, or certifications.
Explain curriculum details, admission requirements, learning outcomes, and career prospects.
Conduct one-on-one counseling via phone, video calls, email, or in-person sessions.
2. Enrollment & Sales Support
Manage inquiries from prospective learners and convert leads into enrollments.
Follow up with potential students to address questions or concerns.
Maintain knowledge of all EdTech offerings and promotions.
Achieve monthly/quarterly enrollment targets.
3. Customer Relationship Management
Maintain regular communication with enrolled learners to ensure satisfaction.
Track student progress and coordinate with academic teams for support.
Maintain accurate records in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho).
4. Collaboration With Internal Teams
Work closely with marketing to understand campaigns and lead sources.
Provide feedback to product and academic teams about learner needs and program improvements.
Participate in training sessions to stay updated on industry trends and new courses.
5. Administrative Responsibilities
Prepare counseling reports and maintain documentation.
Assist in organizing webinars, workshops, and information sessions.
Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical advising standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (education, business, psychology, or related fields preferred).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to understand learner profiles and recommend tailored solutions.
Sales aptitude and comfort with monthly targets.
Working knowledge of EdTech platforms and online learning trends.
Proficiency with CRM tools and MS Office/Google Suite.
Empathy, patience, and a student-first mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in academic counseling, admissions, sales, or EdTech.
Familiarity with professional upskilling trends (AI, data science, management, digital marketing, etc.).
B2B or inside-sales experience.
