To manage and oversee hospital information systems, data processing, software applications, and IT infrastructure, ensuring accurate data management, system security, and uninterrupted hospital operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesHospital Information Systems (HIS) & Software
Manage and maintain Hospital Information System (HIS), EMR, billing, pharmacy, lab, and HR modules.
Coordinate with software vendors for upgrades, troubleshooting, and support.
Ensure smooth integration between departments and systems.
Data Management & Reporting
Ensure accurate data entry, processing, and validation across all departments.
Generate daily, monthly, and statutory reports (OPD/IPD, billing, census, MIS).
Maintain backups and data recovery processes.
IT Infrastructure & Hardware
Oversee servers, computers, printers, biometric devices, and network systems.
Coordinate installation, maintenance, and AMC of hardware and networking equipment.
Ensure uptime and performance of hospital IT systems.
Information Security & Compliance
Implement data security policies, access controls, and user rights.
Ensure patient data confidentiality and compliance with hospital policies.
Monitor system logs and prevent data misuse or breaches.
User Support & Training
Provide technical support to doctors, nurses, and administrative staff.
Train staff on HIS/EDP usage, updates, and best practices.
Prepare SOPs and user manuals for IT systems.
Coordination & Administration
Coordinate with HR, Accounts, Medical Records, Pharmacy, and Lab departments.
Support audits, inspections, and statutory requirements related to data.
Maintain IT documentation and asset registers.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of hospital HIS, EMR, billing, and EDP operations
Understanding of networking, servers, and data security
Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Good communication and coordination ability
Attention to detail and data accuracy
Qualifications & Experience
Graduate in Computer Science / IT / BCA / B.Sc IT (preferred)
5-8 years experience in hospital EDP / IT operations
Hands-on experience with hospital software and reporting systems
