Role Overview

The role is to operate, set up, and maintain EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) machines to manufacture precision tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures as per approved drawings, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with company and regulatory standards (p. 1).Key Responsibilities1. EDM Machine Operation

Operate Wire EDM / Die-Sinking EDM machines efficiently as per job requirements (p. 1). Perform machine setup, including workpiece alignment, electrode setup, and parameter selection (p. 1). Monitor machining operations to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish (p. 1). Make necessary adjustments during machining to meet drawing specifications and tolerances (p. 1).
2. Drawing Interpretation & Accuracy

Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances accurately (p. 2). Ensure machining is carried out as per approved tool design and process parameters (p. 2).
3. Quality & Inspection Support

Carry out self-inspection of machined components using precision measuring instruments (p. 2). Ensure tools and components meet quality standards before handover (p. 2).
4. Machine Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Perform routine preventive maintenance of EDM machines (p. 2). Identify machine issues and report to maintenance/engineering teams (p. 2).
5. Documentation & Compliance

Maintain job cards, machining records, and tool history as per company procedures (p. 2). Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements (ISO 13485 / ISO 9001) (p. 2).
6. Safety & Housekeeping

Follow all safety protocols while operating EDM machines and handling heavy tools (p. 2). Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness in the EDM and tool room area (p. 2).
Qualifications & Skills

Education:

ITI / Diploma in Tool & Die Making / Machinist / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (p. 3).

Experience:

Minimum

5 years

of hands-on experience as an EDM Operator in a Tool Room (p. 3).

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of EDM machining processes and proficient in handling precision measuring instruments (p. 3).

Soft Skills:

High attention to detail, good communication, and a quality-focused approach (p. 3).
