The Role Responsibilities

Strategy

To provide overall leadership for sustained growth of Investment business in India, across Products, Strategy and Sales

Sales

  • Leading the Wealth specialist team in achieving the revenue objective by way of driving robust sales practices and growing AUM through net sales and increasing investment active clients
  • Building the Investment services business by developing a sustainable business and sales model to be the market leader
Comprehensive Investment Product Suite
  • Development and management of strong, innovative, and differentiated product propositions for IS
  • Products span includes all Investments products and lending against financial assets.
  • Working closely with the Securities arm in co-developing product suite and sales strategy
  • Working with the Lending team in growing the Loan against securities (LAS) book
  • Leverage on country and group resources to expand Managed Investment capabilities in India
Superior Recommendations
  • Meticulous execution of Investments recommendations leading to growth in market share and AUM.
Agility in the Face of Regulatory Changes
  • Building and implementing the sales strategy, given the changes in the regulations and dynamic market changes
Segment Lens
  • Implementing a profitable long-term business sales model by developing a segment wise product and sales strategy.
  • Superior recommendations: Meticulous execution of Investments recommendations leading to growth in market share and AUM.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to help achieve SCB India\xe2\x80\x99s goal.
  • Liaising with local providers to enhance service quality for the frontline and customers.
  • Establish a high level of contact with stake holders including Segments, L&C, FM, Risk Functions and Operations
  • Work closely with Group and Regional Stakeholders
Business Reporting
  • Manage day-to-day financial and key indicators, conduct regular review of business potential and profitability, review and improve productivity and cost indicators, define MIS requirements and ensure effective and efficient operations
External Benchmarking
  • Understanding and leveraging the investment industry sales practices and imbibing best practices
Investment Strategy
  • Develop and establish Investment Strategy as an integral part of a sustainable WM business model that drives long term profitability and help WM attain a thought leadership position. Lead and manage the following key deliverables
  • India Investment Committee (IIC) - IIC lays the monthly foundation of our tactical and strategic investment allocation decisions and monthly outlook
  • India\xe2\x80\x99s Market Outlook (GMO: India) - our flagship monthly outlook on asset classes such as debt, equities, commodities, and foreign exchange. The publication also to contain details and performance of our key investment strategies and themes
  • Key Publications - RM Playbook and Investment-focused Client pitch deck - own these key publications for SCB\xe2\x80\x99s frontline and clients
Digital Sales
  • Drive digital sales across DIY, remote-assisted and RM-assisted digital transactions.
  • Responsible for India\xe2\x80\x99s Market Commentary Engine and all online investment properties.
  • Ideate and suggest relevant online engagement initiatives to drive sales.
  • Work closely with the platform team to ensure the investment platform (SC Invest) is functioning smoothly, and providing feedback / input to incorporate market leading capabilities.
Distribution Management
  • Engaging with current channels and monitoring of business performance standards for
  • Acquisition - Acquiring clients via the investments proposition (new to bank clients).
  • Cross sell / Up-sell - Investments cross sold to clients that have other bank products (new to investments).
  • Deepening / Retention - Increasing wallet share of the client (focus on AUM).
  • Profitability: optimum funds in the client portfolio in line with the IIC view and client needs (product mix).
  • Developing alternative channels to build strong partnerships for distribution.
Product Management
  • Develop innovative products and product bundles to meet customer needs.
  • Actively interact with product providers including in-house research team to understand attractive investment opportunities and trends in the market.
  • Work in close collaboration with the securities arm, to distribute and give inputs on product innovations.
  • Proposition - Strengthening the customer Value and service propositions for Investments.
  • FST - focussed recommendations: Implement the proprietary Fund Select framework for recommended funds for clients to invest in.
  • Client relevance - Continuously monitor product portfolio and ensure there is depth, dynamism, and continued relevance to the offering.

Monitoring Performance and Quality
  • Productivity - Implement monitoring mechanisms to measure the productivity of the Wealth team.
  • Service quality - Ensure adequate service quality standards are in place.
  • Sales quality - Ensure standards are in place to minimise mis-selling, customer complaints, etc.
  • Annual reviews of plans and self-certification.
Operational Management
  • Ensure the implementation of appropriate systems and operational processes to measure and manage KPIs and profitability.
  • Ensure that the customer queries are effectively and handled in a timely manner.
  • Identify and track process gaps and work on an ongoing improvement in processes.
Risk Management
  • Making sure that all operational risks are well controlled.
Governance
  • Awareness and complying with all policies and procedures issued from time to time.
  • Ensure that the Product Performance Reviews for top clients are being conducted regularly and effectively by specialists.
  • Attend all control meetings when required, including the Business Governance Meeting.
  • Ensure that all products sold by WM have approved group and country documentation in place (PPG / CAs and DOIs).

  • Segment: BB, CR, PvB, L&C, Operations, Finance and Risk.
  • Entities outside of Bank: Fund Houses
  • Subsidiaries SCSI, SC Capital
External Interaction
  • Clients, SEBI, RBI, AMFI, Fund Managers, Vendors (R & T Agents, Research and data-feed providers, Custodians, technology providers etc), Industry association.

  • Post graduation.
  • Deep understanding of the investment services domain and overall dynamics of the wealth management business.
  • Demonstrated business and sales leadership in wealth management, with core expertise in Investments.
  • Sound understanding of macroeconomics, financial markets, and key asset classes such as debt, equities and gold.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, processes and systems supporting investment services products.
