Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Preparation

: Prepare patients for echocardiography by explaining the procedure, ensuring comfort, and positioning patients correctly. Monitor patient vitals during the procedure.

Conducting Echo Procedures

: Perform various types of echocardiographic exams such as 2D, Doppler, and Color Doppler echocardiograms. Operate echo equipment properly and adjust settings to obtain optimal images. Assist in other related procedures like stress echocardiography.

Image Quality

: Ensure high-quality diagnostic images are captured and assess whether the images meet clinical standards. Ensure the images obtained are clear, focused, and detailed for accurate diagnosis.

Record Keeping

: Maintain proper documentation of patient data and test results. Log echo exams in patient medical records with clear annotations and relevant observations.

Infection Control & Safety

: Follow infection control practices as per hospital policies (disinfection of equipment, gloves, etc.). Adhere to safety protocols while operating equipment.

Equipment Maintenance

: Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of echo equipment to ensure proper functioning. Ensure the equipment is calibrated as per guidelines and report any technical issues promptly.

Collaborative Care

: Communicate effectively with the clinical team (cardiologists, physicians, etc.) to discuss results or clarify concerns. Assist in preparing reports for cardiologists or medical professionals for further diagnosis.
