Job Summary:

The ECHO Technician is responsible for performing echocardiography and other non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging and accurate data for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac patients. The role requires technical proficiency, patient care, and adherence to hospital and departmental protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform

2D Echo, Color Doppler, Stress Echo

, and other cardiac diagnostic tests as advised by the physician. Prepare and position patients for the procedure, ensuring comfort and safety. Operate and maintain

echocardiography machines and related equipment

. Ensure accurate

recording, documentation, and reporting

of test results in the hospital information system (HIS). Assist cardiologists during specialized cardiac diagnostic procedures if required. Perform routine

calibration and maintenance checks

on equipment. Maintain

cleanliness and infection control standards

in the echo lab. Manage

patient scheduling, workflow, and reporting

in coordination with the MRD and OP/IP departments. Maintain

confidentiality of patient records and findings

at all times. Participate in

training, quality improvement, and accreditation activities

as required by the hospital.

Qualifications & Experience:

B.Sc in Cardiac Technology

or equivalent qualification.

Certification in Echocardiography

preferred. Minimum

1-3 years of experience

in a hospital or diagnostic center. Familiarity with

hospital software (HIS / PACS)

and digital reporting systems.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology. Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting echo machines. Good communication and patient interaction skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and within a team.
