Job Description

We are currently seeking an ambitious dynamic consultant at senior level, to join our EHS&S team. A BSc in a relevant Environmental Discipline is essential with an applied MSc in a related subject (e.g. environmental science/management environmental technology, chemical engineering) a distinct advantage. Successful candidates will be expected to have excellent verbal and written communication abilities be confident and self-motivated. You will also be expected to have a demonstrable understanding and interest in international regulatory developments and be capable of the project management and project delivery of environmental assessments for both real estate and corporate clients.



Legal register and briefing notes (on SharePoint) - will need to get to grips with UK legislations and the types of sectors WSP works within. Familiarity with completing Audit Checklists/proformas. EMS support - e.g. drafting procedures/starting aspect registers. EBRD projects - initial local research / BREF docs - environmental setting information / searches of publically available information. Benchmarking projects. Review of environmental database information. A commitment to delivering technically robust, diligent reporting. Experience directly presenting report findings to clients in a timely and clear manner, to the concerned team. Demonstrable experience delivering projects under tight timescales. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Passion and enthusiasm to self-develop, and be a contributing member of a supportive team. Demonstrable abilities in both verbal and written communication to a very high standard. Proven track record in providing support to others on reporting structure in relation to changing client requirements. Good attention to detail and awareness of the key business management systems is key to the role including an understanding of project delivery within the requirements of all company systems. Attend to team and project needs as required and respond within agreed timeframes. Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to line manager. Contribute to the technical capabilities of the Environmental team through provision of training. Develop own expertise and stay abreast of developments in Environmental Legislation. Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in accordance with company policies. Support the sustainability strategy for WSP Support the sustainability strategy for WSP.

Mandatory Skills

Demonstrated proficiency in collation of data from a variety of sources and identifying what is environmentally pertinent. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Ability to work in a very dynamic and demanding work environment. Ability to work independently with minimal oversight. An ability to be adaptable and be willing to take on a wide range of tasks.

Desirable Skills

CAD experience desirable. Basic knowledge of coding is desirable. International experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and master's degree in Environmental Science/management or other related field, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 2 years of experience in the EHS field.
