to lead the greenfield implementation of the Business Central Finance module. This role is critical for a client transitioning from a legacy ERP. You will be responsible for the end-to-end financial architecture--from initial requirement discovery to the complex task of reconciling and migrating historical financial data into a clean, optimized BC environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Architecture & Design:
Lead the design and configuration of the General Ledger, ensuring the
Chart of Accounts (COA)
is optimized for both operational efficiency and executive reporting.
Legacy Data Migration:
Spearhead the migration of master data and
opening balances
. You will be responsible for mapping legacy data to BC Posting Groups (G/L, Customer, Vendor, Bank) and ensuring data integrity during the transition.
Dimensions Strategy:
Design a robust Dimensional framework (Global & Shortcut) to replace rigid legacy folder structures, enabling multi-dimensional financial analysis.
Localization & Tax:
Configure AU-specific tax requirements (GST/BAS) and ensure compliance with local financial regulations.
Process Automation:
Set up AP/AR automation, Bank Reconciliations (including Yodlee/AMC feeds), and Payment Journal workflows.
Governance & Control:
Define and implement Approval Workflows and internal financial controls to ensure audit-readiness.
Go-Live Leadership:
Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), lead end-user training sessions, and provide high-touch support during the critical cut-over period.
Technical & Professional Requirements
BC Mastery:
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in
Business Central/NAV
, specifically within the Finance/Accounting stack.
Accounting Fluency:
Deep understanding of accounting principles (Debits/Credits, Trial Balances, Fixed Assets, and Intercompany eliminations). You should speak the language of a CFO.
Migration Expertise:
Proven track record of using
Configuration Packages (RapidStart)
to migrate complex financial data from legacy systems.
Logic & Reporting:
Strong grasp of posting logic and the ability to design financial reports (Account Schedules/Financial Reports).
Soft Skills:
Exceptional client-facing skills with the ability to manage expectations and "push back" when legacy processes don't align with BC best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications:
MB-800 (Functional Consultant) or MB-820 (Developer) is highly regarded.
International Scope:
Experience with multi-currency environments and consolidated reporting for multi-company setups.
