The Merchandise Flow Team Member plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement of products within the warehouse. This position involves handling materials, optimising processes, and supporting logistics operations to maintain a smooth workflow. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in warehouse management, with experience in shipping and receiving, as well as mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment handling.

Duties

Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Manage the flow of merchandise through the warehouse, ensuring timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments. Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste. Collaborate with team members to coordinate logistics and optimise inventory management. Maintain accurate records using warehouse management systems such as AS400. Perform heavy lifting as required, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Assist in shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring that all products are accounted for and properly documented. Provide support in team management activities, fostering a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

Previous warehouse experience is essential, with a strong understanding of materials handling and logistics operations. Familiarity with 3PL (third-party logistics) processes is advantageous. Mechanical knowledge is preferred to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively. Ability to lift heavy items safely and efficiently is required. Experience with warehouse management systems, particularly AS400, is beneficial. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team are essential for success in this role.
