Job Summary:

The Deputy Manager - Electrical will be responsible for ensuring reliable and safe operation of all electrical systems in the Ferro Alloys plant. The role includes planning and executing preventive & breakdown maintenance, managing electrical utilities, improving power reliability, and supporting uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and manage electrical maintenance of Submerged Arc Furnaces (SAF), transformers, rectifiers, HT/LT panels, motors, MCCs, and auxiliaries. Ensure proper functioning of power distribution systems, substations, DG sets, and plant electrical networks. Troubleshoot electrical faults and breakdowns to minimize downtime. Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance of electrical equipment. Coordinate with production and mechanical departments for smooth plant operation. Manage spares inventory, technical procurement, and vendor development. Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers, supervisors, and technicians. Monitor and control energy consumption; initiate power-saving measures. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, statutory norms, and electrical codes. Support in plant expansion, modification, and commissioning projects. Prepare reports on breakdowns, maintenance schedules, and energy efficiency.

Skills & Competencies:

In-depth knowledge of HT/LT systems, transformers, switchgear, rectifiers, and furnaces. Hands-on experience with PLC, SCADA, and automation systems in heavy industries. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with electrical safety standards and statutory compliance. Leadership ability with good communication and team management skills. Proficiency in maintenance planning tools/software (SAP/CMMS preferred).
