Conduct initial assessment, history taking, and physical examination of patients.
Provide routine medical care under the supervision of consultants.
Monitor vital signs, progress, and clinical condition of admitted patients.
Initiate basic treatment, order diagnostic tests, and follow up results.
Attend to patient queries and provide necessary counseling.
2. Emergency Management
Handle emergency cases, stabilize patients, and initiate life-saving treatment.
Perform basic emergency procedures (IV lines, catheterization, NG tube insertion, CPR, first aid, etc.).
Coordinate rapid response during Code Blue/Code Red situations.
3. Coordination with Consultants
Update consultants on patient status, investigation results, and critical findings.
Implement consultant instructions and treatment plans accurately.
Assist in rounds and clinical decision-making.
4. Clinical Documentation
Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
Document clinical notes, treatment orders, and progress reports.
Ensure proper completion of admission, transfer, and discharge summaries.
5. Patient Safety & Quality Compliance
Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, infection control policies, and safety guidelines.
Report adverse events, critical incidents, or deterioration in patient condition.
Support quality audits and NABH/JCI compliance if applicable.
6. Communication & Teamwork
Coordinate effectively with nursing staff, lab, radiology, pharmacy, and other departments.
Participate in handover during shift changes to ensure continuity of care.
Support patient relatives with clear explanations (within scope of practice).
Qualifications & Skills RequiredEducation
MBBS from a recognized institution.
Permanent/Provisional medical registration with Medical Council.
