Job Summary:



We are seeking a proactive and guest-focused

Duty Manager

to oversee daily operations at our luxury Resort & Spa in the Canary Islands. This pivotal role ensures the seamless functioning of all departments during a shift, while maintaining exceptional service standards and guest satisfaction. The Duty Manager acts as the primary point of contact for guest concerns and ensures that operational, health & safety, and service quality standards are met consistently.

Key Responsibilities:



Supervise and support daily operations of Front office departments. Act as the Manager on Duty during assigned shifts, ensuring efficient running of the resort. Handle guest complaints and service recovery professionally, ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction. Monitor staff performance and ensure adherence to resort policies, grooming standards, and service protocols. Ensure a safe and secure environment for both guests and staff by overseeing health & safety procedures. Liaise with departmental heads to address operational issues and communicate guest feedback. Conduct regular property walks to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and security standards are upheld. Support the Front Desk team during peak periods with check-in/check-out processes and concierge services. Ensure accurate logging and communication of incidents, complaints, maintenance issues, and staff matters. Assist with emergency procedures and act as point of contact for local authorities when needed. Maintain a high level of visibility on the floor and build positive relationships with guests and staff.

Qualifications & Experience:



Bachelor's degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or related field preferred. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role in a 4 or 5-star resort/hotel. Strong understanding of hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, and guest services. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Fluency in English and Spanish; additional languages (e.g., German, French) are a plus. Proficiency with PMS systems (e.g., Opera, Protel) and Microsoft Office. Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergencies effectively. Flexible with working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
