:
Oversee and manage cinema staff, including ushers, box office attendants, and concession workers.
Assign shifts and ensure the appropriate staffing levels for peak times (weekends, holidays, etc.).
Conduct staff training and ensure staff adhere to cinema protocols, health and safety regulations, and customer service standards.
Provide motivation and coaching to staff to maintain high performance.
Customer Service
:
Address and resolve customer complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner.
Ensure a high standard of customer service throughout the cinema experience, from ticket purchase to post-movie feedback.
Monitor the cleanliness and presentation of the cinema facilities to ensure a welcoming environment.
Operations Management
:
Monitor and maintain daily operations, including ticket sales, film scheduling, and cinema operations.
Ensure that all screenings start on time, with no technical issues (e.g., sound, visuals).
Oversee the opening and closing of the cinema, managing cash handling and reconciliation of daily sales.
Coordinate with projectionists and technical staff to resolve any equipment malfunctions.
Health and Safety Compliance
:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including crowd control, emergency evacuation procedures, and hygiene protocols.
Conduct regular checks of fire exits, first aid kits, and other safety equipment.
Inventory and Concessions
:
Monitor stock levels of snacks, beverages, and other concession items.
Place orders for necessary supplies and manage the concession stand operations.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the concession area.
Financial Reporting and Cash Handling
:
Assist with the daily reconciliation of sales, including tickets, concessions, and any additional revenue sources.
Ensure the accurate handling of cash and card payments in line with company procedures.
Team Coordination
:
Work closely with the management team to address any operational or customer issues.
Act as the point of contact for escalated customer complaints during shifts.
Assist with event planning or promotional activities when necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
:
Graduate with any recognise university.
Previous experience in customer service or hospitality, ideally within a cinema or entertainment venue.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts efficiently.
Excellent communication skills, both with staff and customers.
Knowledge of cinema operations (screenings, ticketing, and audio/visual equipment) is a plus.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.The role of a Duty Manager in a cinema is both dynamic and demanding, requiring strong organizational skills, a customer-centric approach, and the ability to manage both people and operations effectively.
