What this job involves:

As an Assistant Manager Engineering at JLL, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional technical operations and engineering services that keep commercial real estate properties running smoothly and efficiently. You'll work alongside a collaborative team of engineering professionals, supporting the management of critical building systems while helping to shape a brighter way for our clients through innovative facility management solutions. This position empowers you to thrive in a dynamic environment where you'll oversee preventive maintenance programs, coordinate with vendors and contractors, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes. You'll be instrumental in driving operational excellence while contributing to cost-effective maintenance strategies that enhance property value and tenant satisfaction.



What your day-to-day will look like:

o Supervise and coordinate daily engineering operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems maintenance o Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime o Conduct regular property inspections and assessments to identify potential issues and improvement opportunities o Manage vendor relationships and oversee contracted services to ensure quality standards and budget compliance o Respond to emergency maintenance requests and coordinate urgent repairs with internal teams and external contractors o Maintain accurate documentation of work orders, maintenance records, and equipment warranties o Support energy management initiatives and sustainability programs to reduce operational costs and environmental impact



Required qualifications:

o Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related technical field o 3-5 years of experience in building operations, facilities management, or engineering services o Strong knowledge of commercial building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing o Valid engineering license or relevant technical certifications preferred o Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite o Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders



Preferred qualifications:

o Previous experience in commercial real estate or property management o Leadership experience with direct reports or project management responsibilities o Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and energy management platforms o Professional certifications such as FMP, CFM, or equivalent industry credentials o Experience with capital project planning and execution o Familiarity with LEED, ENERGY STAR, or other sustainability frameworks
