Job Summary

As a Junior Accountant (CA Dropout), you will support senior accountants and partners in handling day-to-day accounting, taxation, and auditing tasks. This role is ideal for individuals who have pursued the CA course up to the Intermediate level but are seeking practical experience in a professional setting. You will gain hands-on exposure to real-world financial operations while assisting in ensuring accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Taxation

: Assist in the preparation and filing of income tax returns for individuals, firms, and companies. Compute tax liabilities, handle TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) compliance, respond to tax notices, and support tax planning activities to optimize client tax obligations.

Indirect Taxation

: Manage GST (Goods and Services Tax) compliance, including return filings (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.), reconciliations, input tax credit claims, and handling queries related to VAT or other indirect taxes. Ensure timely adherence to statutory deadlines and assist in GST audits.

Finalizing Books of Accounts

: Maintain and reconcile ledgers, prepare trial balances, and finalize books of accounts for clients. This includes journal entries, bank reconciliations, depreciation calculations, and preparation of financial statements (balance sheets, profit & loss accounts) in compliance with accounting standards.

Audit Support

: Assist in statutory, internal, and tax audits by gathering documentation, verifying transactions, and preparing audit working papers. Conduct preliminary audit procedures, identify discrepancies, and support the audit team in issuing reports. Collaborate with team members on client queries, financial analysis, and advisory services. Stay updated with changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements through continuous learning. Perform other ad-hoc accounting tasks as assigned by seniors.
Qualifications and Experience

CA Intermediate (IPCC) dropout or equivalent qualification in accounting/finance (e.g., B.Com with relevant certifications). 1-2 years of experience in a CA firm or accounting role is preferred, but freshers with strong foundational knowledge are encouraged to apply. Basic understanding of Indian taxation laws (Income Tax Act, GST Act) and accounting principles (Ind AS/GAAP).
Required Skills

Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, or similar tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
