About the role
We're hiring a hands-on
Drone Repair Technician
to join our Pune workshop and field team. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years' practical experience repairing and servicing multicopter and fixed-wing drones, be comfortable troubleshooting both hardware and firmware issues, and able to carry out test flights to verify repairs. This is a practical role with workshop work and occasional on-site support.
Key responsibilities
Diagnose faults and repair drones: motors, ESCs, flight controllers, GPS modules, gimbals, payloads (cameras), propellers and power systems.
Perform routine servicing, pre-flight and post-flight checks, and component replacements.
Handle electrical repairs: soldering, connector replacements, wiring harness fixes, and PCB-level troubleshooting when required.
Flash and update firmware, configure flight controllers, and perform IMU/compass/ESC calibrations.
Conduct bench tests and supervised test flights to validate repairs and ensure airworthiness.
Maintain accurate service logs, repair reports and parts inventory.
Manage spare parts ordering and suggest replacements/upgrades to reduce repeat failures.
Provide on-site troubleshooting and quick turnaround field support for client deployments.
Follow strict safety protocols for battery handling, ESD protection and workshop procedures.
Required skills & qualifications
1-2 years hands-on experience in drone repair, UAV maintenance or similar RC/electronics work.
Strong understanding of drone subsystems -- flight controllers (e.g., Pixhawk, DJI), ESCs, brushless motors, power distribution and telemetry.
Confident with electrical diagnostics (multimeter, oscilloscopes a plus), soldering and rework.
Experience with firmware flashing and configuration tools (Mission Planner, QGroundControl, DJI Assistant, etc.).
Able to perform and interpret test flights and analyze flight logs for fault diagnosis.
Basic mechanical aptitude (prop balancing, gimbal alignment, mounts).
Meticulous record-keeping, safety minded, and able to work independently.
Must be based in Pune or willing to relocate.
Desirable
Diploma/certification in Electronics, Mechatronics, Aeronautical Technology or related field.
Prior experience with DJI enterprise systems and open autopilot platforms.
Knowledge of battery health testing and safe Li-Po handling procedures.
Valid drone pilot license / permissions (if applicable) and familiarity with local UAV regulations.
Experience using repair/test equipment: hot air rework, battery analyzers, prop balancer.
Tools / equipment familiarity
Multimeter, soldering station, hot air rework station, battery tester/charger, prop balancer, basic hand tools, and bench test rigs. Company will provide specialised diagnostic tools where required.
