Job Summary

:

The

DRO & Lathe Operator

is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining lathe machines (manual or CNC) equipped with Digital Read-Out (DRO) systems to produce precision components. This role involves interpreting technical drawings, adjusting machine settings, and ensuring that parts meet strict tolerances and quality standards.

Skills & Qualifications

:

5+ years of experience

High school diploma

or equivalent; technical certification preferred. Proven experience with DRO systems and lathe operations (manual). Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Strong understanding of machining processes, tools, and materials. Attention to detail and ability to produce high-precision parts. Basic maintenance skills for machine upkeep.

Key Responsibilities

:

Set up and operate lathe machines (manual) with DRO systems for turning operations.

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications

to determine machining processes and material requirements. Select and install

appropriate tools and materials for the lathe operation

. Monitor

machine performance

, adjust settings for optimal results, and ensure precise measurements are maintained. Inspect finished parts using

measuring instruments

(calipers, micrometers) to ensure they meet quality and tolerance requirements. Perform

routine maintenance

and cleaning of machines to ensure continuous operation. Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Maintain accurate production records, including machine settings and adjustments.

Physical Requirements

:

Ability to stand for extended periods and handle materials up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in a shop environment with machinery and noise.
