To ensure the overall well-being, motivation, and development of drivers by addressing their professional, social, and personal concerns, improving safety awareness, and building a supportive work environment within the transport/fleet operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Driver Engagement & Welfare
Act as the first point of contact for all drivers regarding welfare, grievances, and support issues.
Conduct regular welfare meetings, feedback sessions, and health awareness programs.
2. Training & Development
Organize training on road safety, defensive driving, vehicle handling, and behavioral skills.
Conduct orientation programs for new drivers on company policies, safety rules, and compliance.
3. Health & Safety
Ensure compliance with safety norms -- seat belts, rest breaks, alcohol policy, etc.
Promote stress management, fatigue control, and accident-free driving culture.
4. Communication & Coordination
Maintain communication between drivers, fleet supervisors, and HR management.
Support drivers during emergencies, accidents, or family distress situations.
Coordinate with insurance/HR teams for claims or welfare support.
5. Documentation & Compliance
Ensure adherence to Motor Vehicle Act and company transport compliance.
Report key issues, absenteeism, or misconduct to HR/Fleet Head.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of transport operations, driver management, and safety practices.
Empathy, patience, and ability to handle field staff tactfully.
Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, record keeping).
Qualifications:
Graduate in any discipline (preferably Social Work / HR / Teacher / Principal).
