Job Description

A delivery driver transports goods or packages, loading, organizing, and delivering them to customers or businesses while maintaining vehicle condition and following traffic laws. Key duties include planning efficient routes, ensuring safe delivery, verifying orders, obtaining customer signatures or payments, and providing professional customer service. Essential qualifications typically include a valid driver's license with a clean record, good navigation skills, strong communication, time management, and the ability to work independently. Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Operations

: Inspecting the vehicle before and after deliveries, maintaining its cleanliness, and adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.

Loading & Unloading

: Safely packing, loading, and unloading packages and goods from the delivery vehicle.

Delivery & Route Management

: Planning and executing the most efficient delivery routes, often adjusting for traffic, and ensuring timely deliveries.

Customer Service

: Providing courteous and professional service, confirming deliveries, obtaining signatures or payments, and handling customer inquiries or complaints.

Order Verification

: Checking the accuracy of items before and after delivery, ensuring the correct products reach the customer.

Record Keeping

: Maintaining accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel expenses, and any incidents or accidents.
Essential Qualifications & Skills

Driving

: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Navigation

: Strong navigation and map reading skills, including knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns.

Communication

: Good communication and interpersonal skills for interactions with customers and dispatch.

Organization

: Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail to manage multiple orders and tasks.

Physical Ability

: The ability to lift and carry heavy packages and goods.

Independence

: The ability to work independently and follow instructions.
