Responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of goods between warehouses, distribution centres, and customer locations, while also assisting with warehouse operations as needed to ensure smooth material flow and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Driving & Delivery:
Execute daily delivery routes, ensuring all pickups and deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule.
Drive defensively, adhering strictly to all traffic laws and company policies.
Securely load, arrange, and balance cargo to prevent damage during transit.
Provide courteous, professional service to customers during deliveries and pickups.
Vehicle & Equipment Care:
Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues immediately.
Maintain the cleanliness and basic upkeep of the assigned vehicle (refueling, cleaning).
Warehouse Operations:
Load and unload goods, materials, and customer returns using appropriate equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts if trained).
Assist with organizing stock, inventory counts, and kitting orders.
Verify loads for accuracy against delivery manifests.
Logistics & Administration:
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and supervisors regarding route status and issues.
Maintain accurate logs of working hours and deliveries.
Use maps or GPS to navigate efficiently to various locations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Valid Driver's License (appropriate class for vehicle type) & Clean Driving Record.
Experience in logistics, delivery, or warehouse environments.
Ability to lift and move heavy items.
Strong understanding of traffic laws and safety regulations.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights or weekends if required.
