Operate, monitor, and maintain the dredger engine and all mechanical systems.
Perform daily inspection of engine room, fuel levels, lubrication, and safety equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and carry out minor repairs as needed.
Ensure smooth functioning of dredger operations during dredging, anchoring, shifting, and mobilization.
Maintain logs for fuel consumption, engine performance, and maintenance records.
Coordinate with dredger crew and follow instructions from the site engineer/supervisor.
Ensure compliance with marine safety standards and environmental regulations.
Respond quickly in case of emergencies or breakdowns.
Required Qualifications
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Marine Engineering, or related field preferred.
Minimum
1-3 years of experience
operating dredger engines (cutter suction dredger preferred).
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and marine machinery.
Ability to identify faults and perform preventive maintenance.
Physically fit and able to work in marine/on-site conditions.
