. The role requires strong coordination with drivers, terminals, and customers to ensure smooth container flow and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, dispatch, and track
drayage moves
from ports and rail ramps.
Coordinate with
drivers, terminals, steamship lines, and customers
for pickups and deliveries.
Monitor container availability, appointments, and gate cut-off times.
Ensure timely return of empty containers to avoid
demurrage and detention charges
.
Track and manage
chassis usage
, appointments, and equipment availability.
Update shipment status, PODs, and documentation in
TMS systems
.
Handle exceptions such as port delays, congestion, equipment shortages, and breakdowns.
Communicate proactively with customers regarding delays or changes.
Support billing teams with accurate data on moves, accessorials, and delivery details.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of
US drayage operations
and port procedures.
Knowledge of
demurrage, detention, chassis, and port/rail operations
.
Experience using
TMS systems
, port portals, and tracking tools.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Ability to manage multiple containers and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
Willingness to work in
US time zone shifts
