The Draughting Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate, detailed 2D engineering drawings for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This includes civil, structural, mechanical, and piping drawings required for treatment plants, pumping stations, storage reservoirs, and pipeline networks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering standards, drafting techniques, and proficiency in AutoCAD software used in the water sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and update 2D drawings from engineering sketches, mark-ups, and specifications.
Prepare general arrangement (GA), detailed, and fabrication drawings for water and wastewater projects
Generate bar bending schedules (BBS) for reinforced concrete structures.
Maintain drawing registers and ensure proper version control and drawing revisions.
Coordination:
Work closely with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and process engineers to translate concepts into detailed drawings.
Coordinate with site teams and contractors for drawing clarifications and redlining as-built drawings.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Diploma in Civil / Mechanical Engineering.
Certificate in AutoCAD / Drafting.
Experience:
Min 1year of drafting experience in water and wastewater or similar infrastructure projects.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in AutoCAD (2D essential; 3D desirable).
Familiar with preparation of reinforcement drawings, piping layouts, and equipment GA drawings.
Experience with preparing as-built drawings and drawing submittal logs.
