JOB TITLE: ENGINEERING DOCUMENTATION OFFICER
:
The Engineering Documentation Officer will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and improving
all engineering and product-related documentation systems. The role involves coordinating with crossfunctional
teams, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in documentation, and implementing industryleading
practices for data management.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all engineering and product design related documentation to ensure it is accurate,
current, and properly stored and retrievable.
Establish and implement effective documentation management policies and procedures.
Coordinate with various departments, such as Design /Engineering, Product Management,
Quality Assurance, and Production, to collect information for documentation.
Create / modify technical documentation, including user manuals, design specifications, test
procedures, and engineering reports. This involves gathering information from various sources,
conducting research, and organizing content in a clear and structured manner.
Maintain and update existing documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and relevance.
This includes reviewing and revising documents as needed, incorporating feedback from
stakeholders, and tracking document version control.
Facilitate improvements in processes to boost documentation quality and comprehension.
Develop efficient documentation and data management systems for document storage and to
minimize redundancy.
Guide and oversee document editing and creation efforts, ensuring quality, completeness, and
timely delivery.
Handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion.
Train staff in the use of the document management system and in the appropriate handling,
storage, and disposal of documents.
Conduct regular audits to verify compliance with established documentation procedures and
quality standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
Proven experience of 3-5 years in engineering documentation management or a similar role.
Deep understanding of engineering concepts and principles.
Familiarity with relevant software tools such as CAD to interpret engineering drawings would
be preferred.
Proficiency with documentation management software and databases.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, good organizational and time-management skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with individuals at all levels of the
organization.
Familiarity with ISO9001: 2015 & best practices in document management.
