Prepare, review, and issue Bills of Lading (B/L) in compliance with shipping instructions, Letters of Credit, and trade regulations.
Verify booking details, cargo descriptions, HS codes, weight, measurements, and consignee/shipper information.
Coordinate with customers, agents, and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
Handle corrections, amendments, and surrender/telex release of B/Ls as required.
Ensure adherence to international shipping regulations, Incoterms, and customs compliance.
Maintain proper records of B/Ls, manifests, and other shipping documents.
Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, and ports regarding B/L discrepancies or changes.
Support finance team by ensuring B/L documents match invoicing and payment requirements.
Resolve documentation queries promptly to avoid shipment delays.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of Bill of Lading processes (Original, Seaway, Switch, Surrender, etc.).
Understanding of international trade practices, shipping documentation, and Incoterms.
Detail-oriented with excellent accuracy in document handling.
Proficient in MS Office and shipping/ERP software.
Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience:
Graduate in Shipping, Logistics, International Trade, or Commerce.
2-5 years of experience in shipping documentation / B/L processing (depending on level).
