This project is part of an Indo-German initiative under the
Living Lakes Biodiversity Conservation Programme
in collaboration with the Ramsar-Wetlands Division, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEFCC), Govt. of India.
Position: Officer - Documentation & Communication (One Post)
Project Location: Deepor Beel, Guwahati (Assam)
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
M.Sc. in Life Sciences / Environmental Science / any Science discipline
OR*
Postgraduate in Journalism or Mass Communication (Science background preferred)
Strong preference for candidates with background or exposure to scientific writing/material science.Experience
3-5 years of experience in communication strategy development.
Excellent editorial (writing/editing) skills in English--mandatory.
Ability to produce high-quality technical articles, scientific notes, and summarized content.
Additional Skills
Excellent critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Designing skills: Photoshop, Canva, etc.
Professional command of English; proficiency in Assamese preferred.
Scope of Work
Develop communication strategy and tools for the project.
Ensure effective communication, visibility, and knowledge-sharing across stakeholders.
Prepare & edit press releases, social media posts, and website content.
Maintain proper documentation of communication materials & knowledge products.
Work with the Project Team on result-based reporting and M&E support.
Assist in preparing progress reports, concept notes, and project documents.
Produce reports of workshops, trainings, and project events.
Provide field assistance to the project team.
Support in organizing seminars, workshops, and training sessions.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager/Organization.

Ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver tasks under pressure.
Maturity and confidence while coordinating with Govt. officials, academic institutions, national/international NGOs.
Strong verbal and written communication in English; Assamese preferred.
Knowledge of national and global frameworks related to climate change, biodiversity, and wetland management.
Understanding of urban planning structures and institutional roles.
Ability to work in diverse socio-cultural and socio-economic environments.
Leadership qualities with an inclusive and professional approach.

Remuneration
?35,000 - ?40,000 per month (based on experience & qualification).
For highly suitable candidates, remuneration may be negotiable.
