A Duty Medical Officer (DMO) in a hospital is a physician responsible for providing immediate clinical care and managing patient well-being during their assigned shift. Key responsibilities include patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and emergency response, along with coordinating with specialists, supervising junior staff, maintaining medical records, and ensuring hospital safety protocols are followed. Direct Patient Care

: Conduct initial patient assessments and examinations.

Provide necessary treatments and administer medications.

Manage inpatient care and ensure patients are stable.

Respond to and manage emergency situations efficiently.

Act as the primary medical contact for patients during the shift.

Liaise and collaborate with consulting physicians and other specialists for comprehensive care.

Coordinate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses and administrative staff.
*

Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant patient medical records.

Handle administrative tasks and risk management as required.
*

Supervise and mentor junior medical staff.
*

Ensure patient care meets hospital protocols and standards.

Contribute to maintaining a safe and clean hospital environment.

Stay informed about advancements in medical knowledge and procedures.
