Job Title: Distribution Manager
1. Overview:
The Distribution Manager will oversee the logistics and supply chain management processes to ensure efficient and effective distribution of goods and services. This role is critical in enhancing operational efficiency, managing distribution costs, and maintaining customer satisfaction through timely product deliveries. The Distribution Manager will lead a team of logistics professionals and collaborate with cross-functional departments to optimize distribution strategies.
2. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement distribution strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
Manage day-to-day logistics operations, including inventory management, transportation, and warehousing.
Coordinate and supervise the activities of the distribution team to ensure compliance with company standards and policies.
Analyze and optimize distribution networks, reducing costs while maintaining service quality.
Collaborate with procurement, production, and sales teams to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate process effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and legal requirements pertaining to distribution activities.
Negotiate contracts and maintain relationships with transportation providers and other vendors.
3. Technical Skills:
Proficient in supply chain management software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Strong knowledge of inventory management techniques and tools.
Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS).
Understanding of warehouse management procedures and best practices.
Capability to analyze data and use analytical tools to drive decision-making.
4. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience (5+ years) in distribution or logistics management, preferably in a similar industry.
Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP) is an advantage.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
5. Skills & Experience:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a focus on continuous process improvement.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Solid organizational skills with attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and data analysis tools.
