Job Summary
The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and managing the timely movement of personnel, vehicles, or resources in response to service requests. This role serves as the central communication point between field staff and customers, ensuring efficient operations, safety, and high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, prioritize, and dispatch service calls or work orders
Communicate with drivers, technicians, or field personnel via phone, radio, or digital systems
Monitor schedules, routes, and job progress to ensure timely completion
Track vehicle locations and update status logs in real time
Respond to emergencies or urgent situations and adjust schedules as needed
Maintain accurate records of calls, dispatches, and outcomes
Provide customer service by answering inquiries and resolving issues
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and regulations
Coordinate with supervisors or managers to optimize workflow
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred)
Previous dispatcher or logistics experience preferred
Strong communication and multitasking skills
Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under pressure
Proficiency with dispatch software, GPS systems, or scheduling tools
Basic computer skills (email, data entry, spreadsheets)
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Working Conditions
