Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the activities of dispatch staff and drivers. Monitor dispatch board and assign routes based on delivery schedules, driver availability, and load requirements. Ensure all deliveries and pickups are made on time and in compliance with customer requirements and company policies. Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and customers to resolve delays, changes, or issues. Track and report on delivery status, route efficiency, and driver performance. Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including timesheets, logs, and delivery documentation. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, safety standards, and company procedures. Train and mentor dispatchers and drivers to improve performance and ensure consistent execution of responsibilities. Collaborate with management to develop and implement routing and dispatching strategies for efficiency and cost reduction. Respond to emergency or urgent situations with appropriate action plans and communication.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in logistics, business, or related field is a plus. 3+ years of experience in dispatch, logistics, or transportation, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Strong understanding of transportation regulations and routing software. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and dispatch software (e.g., TMS, GPS tracking systems). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations calmly. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
