Job Summary:

The Dispatch In-Charge will be responsible for managing end-to-end dispatch operations from the steel plant, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of finished goods. This role involves close coordination with the production and planning teams, effective vehicle planning, and strict adherence to quality, safety, and dispatch protocols.

Key Responsibilities:Production & Planning Coordination

Coordinate with the Structural Rolling Mill production team for finished goods availability (Angle, Beam, Channel, Rail, Flat, etc.) Ensure correct section, size, grade, length, and bundle weight as per dispatch requirements Align dispatch priorities as per sales orders and delivery schedules Communicate daily dispatch readiness and constraints to planning and sales teams

Dispatch Operations

Plan and achieve daily dispatch targets (MT per day) Plan and arrange vehicles including trucks, trailers, and rail rake dispatches (where applicable) Supervise loading, strapping, tagging, and stacking of finished goods Ensure FIFO and order-wise dispatch as per system and physical stock Prevent material mix-up through proper identification and verification Coordinate with logistics, transporters, and yard teams Maintain dispatch records, gate passes, and documentation

Compliance & Control

Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and dispatch SOPs Monitor yard discipline and loading safety practices Support audits and internal reviews related to dispatch operations

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

Graduate (any discipline)

Experience:

Minimum

15 years

of experience in dispatch operations in a steel plant or rolling mill environment Strong knowledge of structural steel products and dispatch processes

Key Skills:

Dispatch planning and logistics coordination Knowledge of steel sections, grades, and bundling standards Strong team supervision and coordination skills Ability to handle high-volume dispatch operations Attention to detail to avoid dispatch errors and mix-ups Good communication and problem-solving skills
