Dispatch and Logistics management:

Familiarity with dispatch management, logistics operations, warehousing, and supply chain management.

Data analysis:

Ability to analyse data and reports to optimize dispatch operations.

Route Planning:

Plan and optimize routes for efficient delivery.

Route optimization:

Knowledge of route optimization techniques and software

Familiarity with transportation regulations:

Knowledge of transportation laws and regulations (e.g., hours of service, driver regulations)

Problem-solving:

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve dispatch-related issues

Communication systems:

Proficiency in using communication systems (e.g., two-way radios, phones)

Scheduling and Coordination:

Schedule and coordinate deliveries, pickups, and dispatches.

Team Management:

Supervise and manage dispatch team members.

Issue Resolution:

Resolve issues and delays in dispatch and delivery.

Communication:

Communicate with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders.

Tracking and Monitoring:

Track and monitor shipments and deliveries.

Record-Keeping:

Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Process Improvement:

Identify areas for improvement and implement changes.

Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced

Dispatch Assistant

to manage the Dispatch management systems. The

Dispatch Assistant

oversees the dispatching operations to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient delivery of goods or services. This role is responsible for

managing dispatch staff, coordinating schedules, resolving delivery or routing issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Report to the

Dispatch Head

and support all dispatch-related operations. Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of

dispatchers and drivers/operators

. Monitor, assign, and optimize delivery routes for

timely and cost-efficient dispatch

. Track vehicle and shipment status using

GPS and dispatch management software

. Communicate effectively with

drivers, customers, and internal departments

to resolve delivery issues or delays. Maintain accurate

records of delivery schedules, trip logs, and incident reports

. Ensure compliance with

company policies, safety standards, and transportation laws

. Assist in training, mentoring, and performance evaluation of dispatch staff. Collaborate with

fleet maintenance

and

operations teams

to ensure vehicle readiness. Analyze dispatch performance metrics and implement

process improvements

. Manage emergency response plans for

breakdowns, accidents, or route delays

. Schedule and coordinate

deliveries, pickups, and dispatch operations

. Monitor and track shipments, ensuring

timely delivery and issue resolution

. Collaborate with

logistics, transportation, and customer service teams

to streamline operations. Maintain accurate records and documentation for all dispatch-related activities. Identify and recommend areas for

operational improvement and efficiency

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree/diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field..

1-3 years

of experience in dispatch, logistics, or warehouse operations. Supervisory experience will be an added advantage. Proficiency in dispatch systems and route optimization tools. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Preferred Certifications:

Training in

Logistics / Supply Chain / Dispatch Management

. Knowledge of

commercial vehicle operations

. Experience handling

emergency or crisis management

situations.
