Job Description

A Delivery Associate ensures the efficient and timely delivery of goods to customers while maintaining professionalism and excellent customer service. Below are their core duties and responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities

Delivery Operations

Package Handling:

Collect, load, and secure packages into the delivery vehicle safely. Ensure packages are sorted and organized to match the delivery route.
Timely Deliveries:

Deliver packages to customers on time, following the assigned route and schedule. Adjust routes as needed based on traffic or delivery priorities.
Vehicle Management:

Inspect and maintain the delivery vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Report any vehicle issues or accidents promptly to the supervisor.

Customer Interaction

Problem Resolution:

Handle issues such as undeliverable packages, address discrepancies, or delivery rescheduling.

Compliance and Safety

Follow Guidelines:

Adhere to company policies, traffic laws, and delivery safety standards. Ensure compliance with protocols for handling fragile, hazardous, or high-value items.
Documentation:

Accurately log deliveries, pickups, and any discrepancies in delivery logs or mobile apps. Record mileage, fuel usage, and other vehicle-related data as required.

Warehouse Coordination

Loading and Unloading:

Assist in loading and unloading packages at warehouses or customer locations.
Package Sorting:

Help with sorting packages at the warehouse when necessary.
Skills and Qualification:

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to plan routes and meet tight delivery deadlines. Capable of lifting, carrying, and walking long distances while delivering packages. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for customer interactions. Comfortable using GPS devices, route planning apps, and electronic delivery tools.
