Restaurant housekeeping responsibilities and duties: Cleaning and sanitizing surfaces: Restaurant housekeepers are responsible for cleaning and sanitizing surfaces in the dining area, kitchen, and restrooms. This includes wiping down tables, countertops, and chairs, as well as cleaning floors and walls. Washing dishes and utensils: Housekeepers are often responsible for washing dishes and utensils used in the restaurant. This includes loading and unloading the dishwasher, hand-washing items as needed, and putting everything away in its proper place. Restocking supplies: Housekeepers are responsible for restocking supplies such as napkins, paper towels, and toiletries in restrooms. They may also need to restock condiments and other items on tables. Emptying trash: Housekeepers are responsible for emptying trash cans throughout the restaurant and ensuring that they are properly disposed of. Cleaning and organizing storage areas: Housekeepers may be responsible for cleaning and organizing storage areas, such as the pantry or storage closets. Handling laundry: If the restaurant has linens or uniforms, housekeepers may be responsible for handling the laundry. This includes washing, drying, and folding items as needed. Reporting maintenance issues: Housekeepers should report any maintenance issues they notice, such as broken equipment or leaky faucets, to the appropriate person or department.
