Key Responsibilities:
Dishwashing & Cleaning
Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using dishwasher or by hand.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dishwashing area.
Ensure all cleaned items are properly stored and organized.
Take out trash, recycling, and compost as required.
Clean floors, counters, prep areas, and sinks regularly.
Ensure the area around the cafe and washroom is also kept clean and neat
The store room should be kept clean and tidy as well
Kitchen Assistance
Assist cooks with basic food prep tasks (e.g., peeling vegetables, portioning ingredients).
Restock kitchen supplies such as plates, utensils, and cleaning products.
Help with receiving and organizing deliveries.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and tools.
Support chefs during busy periods with simple backend tasks.
Requirements:
Skills & Abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25-40 lbs (depending on venue).
Good time-management and teamwork skills.
Ability to follow instructions and maintain hygiene standards.
Qualifications
Previous kitchen or dishwashing experience (preferred but not required).
