We are looking for a detail-oriented and efficient
Discharge Typist
to prepare and type patients' discharge summaries and other medical documents accurately. The ideal candidate should have good typing speed, familiarity with medical terminology, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Type and prepare discharge summaries, medical reports, and treatment records based on doctors' handwritten or dictated notes.
Ensure all typed documents are accurate, complete, and formatted according to hospital standards.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with data protection regulations.
Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and medical records staff to verify details or clarify unclear information.
Review and correct errors in discharge summaries before submission.
Maintain and organize electronic and physical files of patient records.
Meet daily or weekly typing targets and deadlines for report completion.
Assist in other clerical or administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
Minimum 10+2 or equivalent; Diploma or Certificate in Typing / Medical Transcription preferred.
Experience:
Freshers or candidates with prior hospital typing experience are welcome.
Typing Speed:
Minimum 40-50 words per minute (accuracy required).
Skills Required:
Good knowledge of
medical terminology
and abbreviations.
Excellent
English language and typing skills
.
Strong
attention to detail
and accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Hospital Information System).
Good communication and teamwork skills.
