The Director \xe2\x80\x93 Development and Communication will play a key leadership role in the organization. The Director will set the agenda for developing the overall Fundraising and Communications initiative. The incumbent will develop an organizational fundraising and communications strategy, and lead teams to develop acquisitions and retention approaches to sustain organizational budgets of USD 15 million annually. In addition they will anchor all strategic communications within and external to the organization and develop a long term strategy for the organization to attract the right talent, funding and champions in service of our mission.
Key responsibilities
Collaborate with the CEO, program leadership, and other functions to develop and execute the fundraising and communications strategy to sustain an annual budget of USD 15 mn and serve amplification goals of the organization and program
Develop annual and multi-year fundraising and communications plans in alignment with thematic and organizational goals
Build, develop and lead the team to manage India and global fundraising and communications operations
Lead strategic engagements with the Board, advisors and strategic funders including managing governance such as board meetings, advisory meetings and funders meetings in consultation with the CEO
Mentor and build capacity of the fundraising and communications personnel to build and sustain a culture of growth, excellence and accountability within the team
Ideal qualification and work experience
10+ years of professional experience, with significant experience leading teams
5+ years of experience in the financial or investment services sector specifically within raising investment or engagement on private equity.
Strong financial management, facilitation skills and ability to build buy in both internally and externally.
Strong writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills in English. Conversational ability in Hindi. Highly proficient in MS Office specifically on financial budgeting and pitch decks.
Experience working with socially excluded communities and in themes such as migration, labour markets, climate change, gender, violence against women and children preferred
