How will you make an impact in this role?





This is a Director position in Global Financial Operations in Record to Report controllership, India, reporting to Vice President, IC&OpEx COE team.



The position is responsible for leading a large team managing diverse accounting processes like OpEx for non-technology BU's, colleague expense including AIA accruals, LTIA accruals etc., eliminating investment equity accounting and governance process. The incumbent will also be responsible for driving control & compliance agenda for inter-company and OpEx COE in addition to driving FinTech goal for global financial operations, specifically Falcon and associated system of records, to drive process transformation in collaboration with multiple stakeholders including GFO leadership, GFII, FRQA and Falcon product owners.



Whilst the primary focus of the role is to maintain financial integrity through robust controls in the manual accounting space, ensuring policy compliance and driving improvement and automation in manual processes, the incumbent is also required to demonstrate strong control mindset and drive meaningful and actionable data insights.


In this position, the incumbent will have an extensive engagement with varied business groups including finance and non-finance teams and would require good understanding of US GAAP requirements. The incumbent is required to maintain a qualitative control environment and partner to enhance governance around the existing accounting processes along with standardization.



The incumbent would manage a diverse team of accounting subject matter experts and is required to create, develop, train, motivate and communicate with diverse work force.




Minimum Qualifications





CA / CPA / ICWA / MBA with a minimum of 8 years of experience or a B.Com. with a minimum of 12 years of experience.


Desired Skills:



Must be a self-starter with ability to drive change and deliver results on multiple time sensitive projects. Understanding of the American Express financial accounting and business processes.
Strong understanding of American Express system of records (SOR) for AR, AP, Loyalty, and ability to build linkage with accounting & business processes. Exposure in Project Management lifecycle and associated governance. Transformational approach to Process efficiency and effectiveness. An eye for detail and an ability to set up, mistake proof and sustainable processes. Well-developed analytical skills with the ability to understand the linkages across processes. Ability to think strategically, innovatively and to pursue ideas with conviction. Ability to build strong relationships and influence others across business partners and colleagues at various levels in the company. Strong demonstration of customer engagement across multiple customer groups is a must. Strong people leader, self-motivator, driven and enthusiastic. Ability to handle a high-pressure environment, decision making in challenging situations. Demonstrate the ability to implement innovative solutions to drive E2E process efficiencies. Capability of thinking 'Outside The Box' with a view to increase productivity and significantly reduce cost of operations and implement initiatives towards automation / Standardization of processes.
