Our new office in Hyderabad will bring together knowledge across business, technology, analytics, and AI, accelerating our ability to deliver impactful solutions for the business and our customers across the globe.Position Summary:Director Total RewardsMcDonalds has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Total Rewards based in our India Global Business Services Office. You will lead the execution of our Compensation, Benefits, and Mobility programs. This role will work closely with Total Rewards People Solutions (COE) leaders, sitting on the Global Total Rewards Leadership team, as well as People Partners to ensure the seamless and efficient delivery of rewards initiatives that align with the organizations global strategy.This role will drive the implementation of competitive and cost-effective rewards processes that support employee engagement, retention, and organizational performance. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in total rewards, operational savvy, strong leadership capabilities, and a data-driven approach to executing key programs effectively.The candidate is expected to reside within IndiaLeadership competencies:

  • Experience in Large Global Organizations: Proven track record of working in large, complex global organizations with a matrixed reporting structure.
  • End-to-End Critical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to think critically and strategically, navigating Global Business Services or Global Capability Center operating models.
  • Solutions Delivery and Service Excellence: Ability to manage a team and deliver results for a defined catalog of services.
  • Data Savvy: Leverages data aptitude to lead with data and curate insights that demonstrate performance and inform decisions.
  • Process Understanding: Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end processes within their specialized function, serving as a Global Process Lead.
  • Technology and Change Management Interface: Ability to interface effectively with technology teams and change management teams to enable continuous improvement aligned with global governance and change control routines.
Responsibilities:In addition to following McDonalds policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:Compensation Program Execution:
  • Support/Lead the year-end (merit, bonus, equity) process in Success Factors, including the coordination of the testing, configuration, communication, launch and administration of this important annual enterprise process.
  • Benchmarking & Analysis: Manage centrally all job pricing activities, including but not limited to compensation survey submissions and collections, job matching, market data cleansing and job pricing in the compensation tool Pay Factors (or other similar tool).
  • Pay Structures: Ensure job evaluation processes and pay structures are updated to reflect market competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Vendor Management: Partner with third-party vendors, ensuring efficient delivery, cost management, and employee satisfaction.
  • Salary Reviews & Adjustments: Oversee the execution of annual salary reviews and adjustments, ensuring consistency, fairness, and alignment with company performance and market trends.
Benefits Team Management and Collaboration:
  • Global Benefits Strategy Execution: Lead the execution of benefits programs and processes, (healthcare, retirement, insurance, wellness, etc.) in alignment with global business objectives, People Services, compliance and employee needs.
  • Vendor Management: Partner with third-party vendors providing benefits services, ensuring efficient delivery, cost management, and employee satisfaction.
  • Program Optimization: Regularly assess the effectiveness of benefits program execution and recommend enhancements to increase efficiency of delivery and overall value.
Mobility Program Execution:
  • US Domestic Mobility Strategy Implementation: Lead the execution of US domestic mobility programs, including relocation, ensuring compliance and seamless support for employees.
  • Cost Management & Vendor Relations: Oversee the financial aspects of mobility programs, including cost analysis and budget control. Work with mobility service providers and relocation vendors to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Employee Experience & Support: Ensure a seamless, positive experience for employees involved in mobility programs, including relocation assistance, cultural integration support, and ongoing career development during assignments.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management:
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Total Rewards People Solutions team, senior leadership, finance, and HR teams to ensure alignment between rewards programs and organizational goals.
  • Program Communication: Develop clear communication strategies to ensure employees understand and appreciate the total rewards offerings available to them.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of professionals responsible for rewards program execution, fostering a high-performance culture focused on delivering exceptional service.
  • Change Management: Lead change management efforts related to updates in compensation, benefits, or mobility programs, ensuring smooth implementation and communication.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in total rewards, including compensation, benefits, and mobility, with at least 7 years in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing vendor relationships and achieving SLA/KPI targets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • Deep experience with compensation tools such as Pay Factors, Payscale, Salary.com or others
  • Significant knowledge of Success Factors, including compensation modules
  • Knowledge of global total rewards trends, regulations, and best practices
  • Proven track record of managing and mentoring global teams across multiple regions Large matrixed organization
  • Expert in driving cross-functional initiatives, ensuring organizational objectives are met seamlessly
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a people manager, leading diverse, complex teams, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration across global markets
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data analysis skills
  • Certification in compensation or benefits (e.g., CCP, CEBS)
  • Experience in managing total rewards programs for large, complex organizations
  • Strong business acumen
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to influence others; able to build and drive a strong business case for people as a growth driver
  • Experienced in collaborating with cross-functional partners in a matrixed environment
  • Continuous improvement and growth mindset
