The Opportunity:
The Director role in the Visa Cloud Platform team entails leading multiple development teams to enhance the holistic Release orchestration and single pane of glass for operations team to support the containerized applications. This includes automation of Day 0, Day 1, and Day 2 activities in the lifecycle of containerized applications deployed on the shared Kubernetes clusters. The teams are comprised of full stack developers, tech leads and Sr. managers who manage teams themselves. A successful candidate for this position will be able to have a positive impact on the experience of other product development teams within Visa.
The Work itself:
Overview of the expected work
The work involves leading teams adhering to Visa's leadership principles of leading courageously, obsessing about our customers, collaborating with other teams, and excelling in execution.
This role will lead the Shared Control Plane which is built on top of the Visa Container as a Service offering, to offer a holistic release orchestration and single pane of glass for operations team to support the containerized applications. The backend for this is built using Go.
This role is expected to manage developers leveraging different languages and frameworks and should set the right SSDLC guidelines and guardrails to ensure the teams' success.
This role is expected to collaborate closely with PD partners in PPT, VAS, CMS and other TLTs. There will be significant integration with our Visa Container services platform, requiring close partnership with them.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:

• 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 7 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 8 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 14+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 14 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12+ years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 8+ years of work experience with a PhD
• 5+ years of experience in leading other development teams or team of teams.
• 5+ years of experience in systems architecture, engineering or development including experience in cloud automation frameworks, Hybrid cloud infrastructure deployments and solutions for large enterprises.
• Well versed with well-architected frameworks driving Operation excellence, Security, Reliability, Performance efficiency, Cost Optimization
• Understanding and experience with Virtualization and Containerization technologies and cloud-native Application Architecture
• Exceptional collaboration and partnership skills with the ability to work in a global environment and drive consensus in cross-functional teams.
• Proven record of defining technology roadmap, executing defined technology strategies, and driving adoption across a large enterprise
• Good understanding of Agile processes, specifically Scrum.

Essential Functions:-
The Skills You Bring:

• Lead multiple development teams to build, manage and enhance Continuous delivery solution for users of the Shared Container platform.
• Bring in strong technical expertise to drive the architecture and high-level design of different services.
• Lead technical discussions and communicate regularly with senior leadership on technical issues, program status, and escalations.
• Define and advocate a set of standard technologies and architectural patterns for solving complex technical problems, specifically in the cloud computing domain.
• Champion SSDLC processes to deliver quality software on time.
• Act as a technical liaison between product, engineering teams, Cybersecurity and Operations.
• Work closely with cross-functional groups including internal stakeholders (Product Managers, Engineers, Architects, etc.), and external customers and vendors to formalize roadmaps & priorities.
• Lead by example, demonstrating accountability, and by contributing to departmental procedures, best practices, and standards.
