About the Role
A rapidly growing organisation in the premium retail solutions space is seeking a Director Sales - India to lead commercial strategy, strengthen key client relationships, and drive long-term revenue growth. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Managing Director and requires the ability to balance strategic planning, customer engagement, and team leadership across multiple verticals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Commercial Strategy & Execution
Co-create and implement India's sales strategy in collaboration with the MD.
Drive commercial planning, market development, and long-cycle business opportunities.
Monitor progress of sales initiatives and ensure consistent execution across teams.
Introduce and optimise sales processes, tracking systems, and opportunity dashboards.
2. Team Leadership
Lead and coordinate two senior vertical leaders and their extended teams.
Challenge, mentor, and upskill the sales organisation through structured plans and coaching.
Build a culture of collaboration, information sharing, and high performance.
3. Key Accounts & Customer Engagement
Build strong relationships with premium/luxury brand clients across India.
Engage deeply with customer stakeholders to understand needs, trends, and buying behaviours.
Lead high-impact negotiations, strategic pitches, and business reviews.
Strengthen loyalty and expand the organisation's footprint within existing accounts.
4. Market Intelligence & Prospecting
Analyse market movements, competitive landscape, and sector insights.
Identify new business opportunities and create targeted prospecting strategies.
Provide inputs on trends to support marketing, product, and innovation functions.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Global Alignment
Coordinate with internal divisions, technical teams, and leadership groups to support client needs.
Share key customer insights with global teams to enable alignment on strategy and pipeline.
Ensure unified messaging and positioning across business units and communication channels.
6. Strategic Partner to the MD
Act as a trusted advisor on sales, financial, and marketing decisions.
Bring structure, clarity, and rational decision-making to commercial topics.
Support organisational initiatives related to innovation, simplification, and change management.
7. Communication & Brand Presence
Oversee the creation of impactful proposals, presentations, and marketing content.
Partner with the communication team for customer events, digital presence, and brand storytelling.
Support initiatives that enhance the company's perception in the premium market.
