Position Title:

Director of Physical Education

Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic & Sports Development

Plan and implement physical education programs as per UGC guidelines

Organize intramural, inter-collegiate, inter-university, state, and national-level sports events

Identify, train, and mentor student athletes for competitions

Develop annual sports calendars and activity plans

Administration & Management

Manage sports infrastructure, equipment, and facilities

Prepare budgets, proposals, and utilization reports for sports activities

Maintain records of participation, achievements, and performance metrics

Coordinate with universities, sports councils, federations, and associations

Coaching & Wellness

Provide coaching and fitness training in various sports disciplines

Promote physical fitness, yoga, wellness, and lifestyle programs

Encourage participation of students and staff in sports and wellness initiatives

Compliance & Representation

Ensure compliance with UGC, University, and institutional norms

Represent the institution in sports meetings, tournaments, and official forums

Support NAAC/NIRF documentation related to sports and physical education

Qualification

UGC Requirements for Director/Asst. Director of Physical Education:

- Master's Degree in Physical Education (M.P.Ed)
- Experience in organizing sports events / coaching / physical wellness programs in Universities/Colleges
- Desirable: Inter-university/state/national representation

Skills & Competencies

Strong leadership and organizational skills

Knowledge of sports rules, coaching techniques, and fitness standards

Excellent coordination, communication, and documentation skills

Ability to motivate students and manage teams
