Education - Masters / Postgraduate degree in Development Studies, Business, Communications, or related fields.
Experience Level - 15+ years in fundraising, proposal or grant writing, donor communication / Business development / Marketing / Sales
Salary - Rs. 1,75,000/- to 2,00,000/- per month

Role Overview
The Director of Fundraising will lead Sol's ARC's resource mobilization strategy, ensuring the organization has sustainable, diversified, and long-term funding. This senior leadership role will focus on building strong donor partnerships (corporates, foundations, HNIs, and international agencies), developing innovative fundraising campaigns, and strengthening systems for donor engagement and stewardship. The role requires a strategic thinker with proven expertise in fundraising, relationship management, and aligning donor priorities with programmatic impact.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fundraising Strategy & Execution
Develop and implement a 3-5 year fundraising strategy aligned with Sol's ARC's mission and growth goals.
Identify, cultivate, and secure funding from CSR partners, philanthropic foundations, HNIs, and international donors.
Drive multi-year partnerships to ensure financial sustainability.
2. Donor Engagement & Stewardship
Lead donor relationship management with a focus on trust, transparency, and long-term engagement.
Oversee timely submission of proposals, utilization reports, and donor communications.
Build a culture of donor stewardship across the organization.
3. Proposal Development & Budgeting
Lead the design of compelling concept notes, proposals, and presentations with program and finance teams.
Ensure donor budgets are realistic, aligned with program needs, and compliant with regulations.
4. Leadership & Collaboration
Build and lead the fundraising team, providing mentorship, performance oversight, and capacity building.
Work closely with program, communications, and finance teams to ensure donor alignment.
Represent Sol's ARC at external forums, donor meetings, and sector events.
5. Systems & Compliance
Establish systems for tracking fundraising pipeline, commitments, and renewals.
Ensure compliance with donor contracts, FCRA, CSR, and other statutory requirements.
Provide regular fundraising reports and forecasts to the leadership team and Board.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Secure a minimum 2 new multi-year donor partnerships annually and another 8 to 10 new donor annual partnerships
Donor retention rate of 80%+.
100% on-time and compliant donor reporting.
Increased funding diversification across donor types (CSR, HNIs, international, etc.).
Raise 2.50 cr in the last two quarters of the FY 2025-26 and Min 8.00 cr (New donor funding) in the FY 2026-27. 100% Achievement of annual fundraising targets set.
Timely submission of proposals and reports is an absolute non negotiable.
Organising 4 fundraising events/round tables annually
Required Qualifications & Experience
Master's degree in Development Studies, Social Work, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum
12-15 years
of progressive experience in fundraising/resource mobilization, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven track record of raising large-scale funds (multi-crore, multi-year partnerships).
Strong network with corporates, foundations, HNIs, and global donors.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (storytelling, pitch, negotiation).
Familiarity with CSR ecosystem in India, donor compliance frameworks, and FCRA regulations.
