We're looking for an experienced and visionary
Director of Engineering
to lead our technology function and shape the next phase of product and platform innovation. This role demands a balance of strategic thinking, hands-on technical expertise, and people leadership. You'll be responsible for driving engineering excellence, building scalable systems, and aligning technology strategy with business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technology Vision & Strategy
Define and execute a forward-looking engineering strategy aligned with the company's product roadmap and long-term vision.
Establish a clear technical direction, ensuring the adoption of best practices in architecture, performance, and reliability.
Drive innovation by exploring emerging technologies and evaluating their potential for business impact.
2. Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering organization across multiple teams and functions.
Create a strong culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Implement effective hiring, onboarding, and development programs to nurture engineering talent.
3. Engineering Delivery & Execution
Oversee the end-to-end delivery of software products -- from planning and design to deployment and post-launch monitoring.
Ensure timely, high-quality releases through robust CI/CD, testing automation, and agile delivery processes.
Establish metrics and processes to measure engineering performance, efficiency, and impact.
4. Architecture & Scalability
Lead architectural design and system-level decision-making to ensure scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Promote modern software development practices including microservices, containerization, and cloud-native infrastructure.
Partner with product and design teams to deliver seamless, user-centric experiences.
5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Work closely with executive leadership to translate business strategy into actionable engineering initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Data, DevOps, QA, and Design) to deliver integrated solutions.
Communicate technical insights, trade-offs, and opportunities effectively across all levels of the organization.
Required Skills & Experience
8-15 years of total experience
in software engineering, with
3+ years in a leadership role
(Engineering Manager, Director, or Head of Engineering).
Strong technical foundation with experience in
backend systems, distributed architectures, and modern web technologies.
Proven track record of
scaling teams, systems, and processes
in high-growth or product-driven environments.
Deep understanding of
cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps culture.
Strategic problem-solver with excellent stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making skills.
Passionate about fostering engineering excellence and building products that drive measurable impact.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in a
tech-first, startup, or product-based company.
Exposure to
AI/ML integration, data platforms, or large-scale SaaS architecture.
