This role is designed for an engineering leader who can architect, scale, and operationalize AI-native platforms that solve complex challenges for both enterprises and high-growth startups. You will guide the evolution of next-generation AI systems--combining GenAI, agentic workflows, and entity-centric architectures--to enable reliability, velocity, and large-scale adoption. As the Director of Engineering - AI Platforms, you will define the technical vision, lead cross-functional engineering teams, and build a high-trust, distributed engineering culture that drives breakthrough innovation and operational excellence.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities

• Lead technology strategy for AI platforms and guide the shift from traditional systems to agent-based and entity-centric architectures.
• Define approaches for LLM orchestration, context memory, and AI workflow integration.
• Build and scale a distributed engineering team using a Hub & Spoke model.
• Mentor senior engineers and establish strong engineering practices across teams.
• Oversee platform reliability, security, and performance at scale.
• Implement AI-native operational metrics, including agent accuracy and cost efficiency.
• Partner with product leadership to develop long-term roadmaps and technical priorities.
• Provide direction on build-vs-buy decisions for AI components and system integrations.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 15+ years of software industry experience with strong architectural and leadership background.
• Expertise in AI/ML, Generative AI, LLMs, agentic architectures, and modern orchestration layers.
• Proven success building and scaling SaaS/PaaS platforms for large user bases or high transaction volume.
• Strong ability to lead distributed engineering teams and influence strategic decisions.
• Clear communicator with the ability to connect technical depth with business impact.
• Motivated by building future-ready AI systems that drive reliability, scalability, and innovation.
